Going Green at Oakland University

Welcome to the Oakland University Black, Gold and Green Blog, your one-stop shop for an array of easy-to-implement "green" tips, updates on environmentally-friendly S.O.P.E. programs, and more.

From the videos and written posts that will follow, this blog is your chance to learn more about what being "green" at Oakland means, comment and ask questions, provide suggestions, and have conversations about environmental topics. Many of my updates will revolve around S.O.P.E. initiatives.

What is S.O.P.E., you may ask?

S.O.P.E. stands for the Sustaining Our Planet Earth program, and here at OU, that is exactly what we are committed to do!

From organic cooking workshops, eco-awareness game shows, and revamped recycling initiatives to a new Bike Share program, hydration stations, and "eco leader" conferences, the Oakland University S.O.P.E.s have an exciting year planned for you. Keep track of these and other upcoming activities on our event page, or take a look back here for more information.

Thank you for taking the time to check out this blog! Don't forget to 'Favorite' it on your way out. More importantly, thanks for taking the time to investigate how to "be green" at OU!

I hope you'll come back again!
